Systems Administrator – Windows

6 month Contract – potential to extend

Saint Paul, MN

Qualifications:

Windows based server operating systems administration in a medium to large completer server environment

Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certification or equivalent experience

Installing, configuring and managing x86 based server hardware and virtual machines and a good working knowledge of Active Directory

Knowledge / understanding of:

Active Directory

TCPIP and DNS required

Patching and installation

Windows clusters

Networking/distributed computing environment concepts; knowledge of and experience with principles of routing, client/server programming

Responsibilities:

Role will consist of both daily operational administration support as well as project related work to include: Documenting the technical direction of the storage team by developing strategies, defining policies, selecting standards, and documenting procedures.

Responsible for the delivery and operations of Windows Server infrastructure and services across the enterprise.

Job Duties: List the significant/essential duties, tasks or responsibilities which employees in this position are required to perform.

Collects and documents technical requirements used for design specifications

Assists in evaluating new requirements and recommends new processes and standards as appropriate

Designs, builds, tests and administers software and technical platforms to standards

Effectively identifies user and technical dependencies, identifies risk, and engages other technical domains to define broader solution sets

Defines build standards and test standards, guidelines, best practices, and produces metrics as directed

Establishes and maintains system specific documentation and operational procedures within the domain

Conducts proactive capacity planning, performance monitoring, configuration tuning and technology refresh

Performs incident and problem analysis and resolves escalated technical problems following established guidelines

Responsible for evaluating outages, reviewing impact of supported systems, and troubleshooting incident resolution

Manages & reinforces systems security in accordance with industry best practices and GIT policy

Participates in on call rotation for support as needed

Follows applicable change management and quality control processes

Disaster recovery planning and testing as required
