Job Description

Technical Architect

What will you do?

The architect will need to access the current state of regulatory applications, identify gaps and areas of improvements; design and remediate/build the existing regulatory applications

Apply knowledge and experience in designing, planning, building, and deploying (release, maintenance, monitoring) solutions leveraging latest SDLC principles

Focus on Core Database, Business Intelligence and must apply analysis skills and experience in principles of installation, configuration, availability, recoverability, scalability, performance tuning, etc. to define appropriate customer solutions

Create architecture specifications and other design artifacts representing the approach and effect of new proposed solutions

Able to write Java programs that solve business needs. Work with other architects to maintain overall technology portfolio with supporting standards and guidelines

Perform code review and work closely with application development teams to address issues relating to application architecture, such as performance or availability, and recommend solutions

Implementation of information and data quality management processes, data stewardship, enterprise metadata management and related programs

Must haves

5+ years' experience in a practicing technology architect and leadership function in the implementation of an application in a corporate environment

5+ years' experience leading in the design and implementation of a strategic application using java and Sybase IQ technologies

8+ years' experience in full development life cycle and significant experience in delivering applications and architecture services in a production environment

Current hands-on experience with implementation of large database and tier-1 and tier-2 type solutions

Nice to haves:

Strong knowledge of various configuration/source code management tools (SVN, Maven, Git)

Financial Industry Capital Market and/or Regulatory Reporting functional knowledge

Familiarity with rules engine (DROOLS), python, testing frameworks (JUnit/TestNG) and concepts (Test Driven Development, Regression and Parametric testing)

Experience with workflow tools like Alfersco or BRMS jBPM.
