Job Description
Technology Operations Engineer
Primary responsibilities include
Manage, automate and deploy critical software distribution for Linux and Windows
Solid understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytic tools to proactively monitor systems for problems
Strong ability to identify, diagnose and troubleshoot complex applications and to resolve problems which are critical to ensure market uptime
Liaise across dynamic trading, development and systems team to address mission critical system issues to ensure timely resolution
Fulfill daily/scheduled system management and one-off requests
Strong eye towards and desire to improve firm process through development of new tools
Strong bend toward process/escalation/SLA to properly maintain systems documentation to mitigate risks across the business
Technology Operations Engineer
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
2+ years of experience using, managing, or developing on Linux systems
Fluent with Linux command line tools
Proficient in a scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.)
Comfortable with distributed version control like Git, Mercurial, or Subversion
Familiar with configuration management systems like Salt, Puppet, or Chef
Familiarity with open source monitoring tools, such as Nagios, Cacti, etc.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment
