Security Administrator
Pleasanton, CA
4-5 month Contract
The Information Security Administrator II will perform IT security tasks, install and configure security software, configure Windows server security settings, review and assess other IT infrastructure for security related recommendations.
Must also be prepared and able to protect assets and information resources from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, inspection, recording or destruction.
This position will provide support for other information security processes and assists in reviews of existing infrastructure to ensure efficiency with Information Security operations.
Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration & associated toolsets and with automating Microsoft Windows Server administration as well as troubleshooting software installation failures & resolution.
Knowledgeable understanding of information security industry governance models such as NIST, ISO 27001/2, COBIT.
Experience with McAfee Application Control and/or ePO.
Job Duties:
Triage of incoming information security events by following detailed operational process
Installation and configuration of security software packages using automation
Patch Management Assessments
Configuration of Windows server security settings using GPO
Familiar with Center for Internet Security (CIS) recommendations pertaining to scanning
Familiar with the National Institute of Standards and Technology recommendations and
Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE's)
Collaborate with local IT staff
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology and conducts information security research in keeping abreast of the latest information security issues
Creates information security reporting metrics and analysis for management.
Creates and updates process documentation
Suggests and develops security measures, practices, and processes to safeguard
information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure
Identify and recommend improvements to both process and technologies.
