Director of IT

Dallas based client seeks an energetic and diligent Director of IT to join our fast growing company and dynamic team.

The IT Director is responsible for managing and supporting a team of technical staff from Service Desk to Senior Architect, and generating customer satisfaction and exceptional utilization of each team member.

The right candidate will have hands-on technical experience and IT leadership experience.

Our leader will be very experienced in leading a service delivery team, implementing and managing to ITIL standards and developing technical roadmaps.

The right candidate will be astute to detail as our company and clientele require in-depth knowledge of information technology and a general working knowledge of all areas of the organization.

This person will be a member of our executive team, whose contribution will directly affect the success of the organization and they will have the opportunity to be substantially financially rewarded if we achieve our goals.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:STRATEGIC

Lead strategic technology planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future technologies.

Development and maintenance of the Technical Roadmap

Establish and maintain enterprise technology standards which achieve operational efficiencies while maximizing value.

The Director of IT assumes responsibility for delivering IT services, systems, and applications within agreed service levels and ensures the appropriate levels of capacity to fulfill future company needs.

Maintains awareness and understanding of current and emerging technology

Develops and oversees the department operating and capital budgets.

Resolves issues and conflicts and exchanges information; responds to requests for information from various departments. Will function as the IT executive responsible for the day to day operations of the IT organization

Vendor management

IT Disaster Recovery Planning

Contribute to test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects

Establish the IT Service Management Program to include implementation of ITI L best practice processes. Establish the ITSM scorecard and assume overall accountability for the performance of the ITSM program.

Service Strategy: Service Portfolio Management, Financial Management for IT Services, Demand Management

Service Design: Service Catalogue management, Service Level Management, Availability
Management, Capacity Management, IT Service Continuity Management, Security Management, Supplier Management

Service Transition: Change Management, Service Asset and Configuration Management,
Release and Deployment Management, Service Validation and Testing, Change Evaluation, Knowledge Management

Service Operation: Event Management, Access Management, Request Fulfillment, Problem Management, Incident Management, Service Desk, Application Management, IT Operations Management

This includes documenting the processes, measuring the processes, training the technical teams and the entire organization, etc.

Perform IT Infrastructure resource measurement, trend analysis, forecasting and capacity planning.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and security requirements associated with system implementation and ongoing support

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: LEADERSHIP

Establishes professional development and training plans; establishes goals and expectations with team members; provides continuing feedback on performance; perform annual HR reviews; hires new technical staff as needed; participates in the hiring of new employees.

Accountable for communications, financial management, professional development and mentoring of employees.

Establishes departmental goals and objectives and presents department accomplishments

Train, coach, and mentor support staff to ensure customer and business objectives are met.

Perform reporting functions on an ongoing and timely basis.

Work with all personnel and outside contacts to satisfy clients and achieve company goals

Ensure knowledge management systems and documentation is kept up-to-date.

Performs regular customer reviews of the service level performance.

TECHNOLOGIES/STANDARDS:

Virtualization (VMWare, OnApp, Citrix, Xen Server, etc)

Experience overseeing teams in the support of hypervisor technologies in a clustered environment

Experience overseeing teams in the support of the following Microsoft Systems: Active
Directory, Exchange, System Center, SOL, Skype for Business (Lync) , and Office 365

Experience in LAN and WAN networking, VLANs, Firewalls and SAN systems.

PCI-DSS 3.1, HIPAA/H ITECH, and SOC2 TSP's (Security, Availability, and Confidentiality) compliance

Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Juniper SSG appliances

Understanding of network protocols, data flow analysis, and network design and troubleshooting

Operational familiarity with VLAN, STP, CIDR, BGP, OSPF, IPS/ IDS.

Experience building prototypes, pilots, or full products in cloud environments. Cloud Platforms. On App .

Operating Systems: Windows, Unix, Linux , and Mac OS X

Ticketing Systems (Ubersmith, HostBill, etc), CRM, Knowledgebase, monitoring tools, inventory management, Zabbix,

REQUI REMENTS:

10+ years' experience in information technology management, with five years of leadership experience that includes strategic and management responsibilities associated with infrastructure and advanced technologies.

5+ years of progressive IT experience and 2 + years overseeing client operations in a technical and advisory role

Bachelor's degree in an IT related field preferred from an accredited university

Experience in IT strategy, business requirement gathering, IT roadmaps and project
delivery

Experience in IT design, systems administration, and operations

Experience in ITIL Service Management, Operations, processes improvement and definition

Experience working in a Data Center environment

ITIL Foundations certification a plus
