LINUX ENGINEER

A growing managed services firm is actively seeking an experienced Linux Engineer to be the Linux SME for all client needs.

We are looking for an experienced Linux Engineer with proven financial industry experience to deploy and maintain high performance trading environments.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, accountable, and able to take ownership of Systems Engineering and be an integral part of the team with a customer focus and "get it done right” attitude.

The organization delivers low latency networking, infrastructure design, procurement, project management, installation, and ongoing monitoring services to High Frequency Trading Firms, Broker Dealers, and other market participants.

The ideal Linux Engineer candidate will be comfortable being the technical liaison to external clients.

Excellent communication skills are required.

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

Investigate new products and techniques to improve efficiency and performance in the environment

Linux kernel tuning experience in a low latency environment

Responsible for architecture and maintenance of storage systems

System analysis, monitoring, and performance tuning

Responsible for management and maintenance of trading system

Job Requirements:

Experience in automation of daily software and hardware related tasks, including new system deployment

Scripting in common languages (Python, Bash)

Advanced experience with a variety of Linux distributions (RedHat, Ubuntu etc.)

Experience with system monitoring and configuration management tools

Experience in troubleshooting multicast and TCP related performance issues

Experience working with low latency network cards of multiple vendors

Experience working with common exchange protocols, FIX, ITCH, OUCH, etc.

Knowledge of data center procedures

Familiarity with common Windows operating systems and user management.
