Helpdesk Support

This is an Intern/newly graduated position providing an opportunity for the qualified candidate to gain operational experience within the Client Technical Services group.

Key responsibilities of the candidate are as follows:

BRS Client Support:

Provide level two interactive technical troubleshooting for Java and web-based applications.

Create a knowledge base of technical solutions for desktop issues.

Support the ongoing technology relationship for firms Solutions’ trading and risk management system.

Develop a strong working relationship with client technology teams and BRS relationship
managers in order to support client requests and initiatives.

Frequent interaction with groups in multiple organizations at firm, including Client
Services, Global Technology Infrastructure, and development teams.

Change Management Administration:

Review infrastructure and software changes that impact firm’s Systems and participate in scheduling.

Communicate changes to stakeholders.

Perform tasks required for regular review, including follow-ups with functional teams regarding ticket status and adherence to change management policies.

Service questions about change management tools and processes.

The candidate is expected to possess and be able to demonstrate the following:

Skills:

Essential Skills:

Strong leadership, organization and critical thinking skills

Self-directed, effective at prioritizing tasks, managing time, and getting things done

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and adept at communicating with all levels of the business and technical parts of the organization

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

Solid technical understanding of infrastructure components e.g. Unix, Windows, Sybase,
Network technologies

Desirable Skills:

Skilled in writing SQL queries for data extraction and analysis

Knowledge of Perl, VBA, Excel VBA Scripting

Experience troubleshooting Java-based applications

Strong technical writing skills or previous documentation experience and familiarity with Confluence
