The Accounting Manager supervises the monthly close process which includes journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L variance analysis and inventory analysis.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the monthly close process which includes all inventory accounting and providing guidance to plant financial managers on specific accounting issues

Prepares the monthly inventory valuation, analysis and reporting packet

Oversees the reconciliation of inventory transactions from sub-systems to general ledger

Facilitates the system conversion of inventory processes

Performs continuous assessment of the close process and implement improvements to reduce the timing to close the financial period

Implements and complies with all SOX requirements and processes for monitoring of controls at plant level

Monitors compliance with Company policies at all plant locations

Organizes meetings with both external and internal audit on a periodic basis

Composes the monthly variances to budget and forecast reports at the Division level

Participates in other projects as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree required in Accounting

Master's Degree in finance, accounting or business and/or CPA preferred

Previous Work Experience

7 – 10 years

Must have 5 years accounting experience within manufacturing industry

Prior work experience with inventory accounting and month end close

Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and concepts, including
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP

Broad experience with auditing practices and internal controls such as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

Additional Skills

Strong knowledge of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory accounting and related systems such as (Kiwi, Amtech, Avantis) preferred

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision making skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints

Prior experience in supervision or management of other employees preferred

Advanced user of Microsoft Excel

Proficient in Microsoft Office and enterprise management systems

Language Skills

Ability to write reports and business correspondence

Able to communicate with others in a professional, concise manner

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPA preferred
