Job Description

Technical Support Specialist

St. Paul, MN

6 Month Contract to Hire! ($18/hr upon conversion)

Summary

The Desktop Specialist works collaboratively with staff across the organization to ensure that technology provided to staff works properly and meets their needs.

Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software

Respond to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solutions

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, hardware, and software

Respond to queries both in person and over the phone

Write training manuals

Provide orientation to new staff

Monitor and maintain the deployment of systems, phone and peripheral for new, terminations, changes and staff moves

Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software

Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems

Act as liaison to offsite Data Center and all internal employees

Experience

At least two years' experience provided technical support in an office environment

Experience supporting MAC workstations a plus

Experience supporting an Office 365 environment a plus

Knowledge and Skills

Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel

Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, telephones and related hardware and software

Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications procedures, and techniques

Excellent technical computer skills in Microsoft Office includeding Word, Excel, and Outlook

Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (especially workstation and mobile devices)

Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory

Must have Valid Driver's license- will be required to travel to sites and camps occasionally (company cars provided for travel)

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as required by position responsibilities
