Our Client is a Billion Dollar start-up unicorn that focuses on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions. Since established in 2007 they have grown to about 600 employees with 7 offices around the world with a goal to provide the best possible services at under market prices. They are currently seeking a Senior ZFS Engineer to help manage the 500 Petabyte of data they are currently hosting. This senior ZFS engineer will be the SME for the ZFS application suite, and responsible leveraging the application to enhance their services. Primary Responsibilities for Senior ZFS Engineer: Develop new features in OpenZFS for use on Linux. Work to improve ZFS performance for large storage arrays. Collaborate with project teams to integrate ZFS solutions into production. Contribute feature enhancements back into the upstream OpenZFS project. Desired Skills & Experience for Senior ZFS engineer: 3 years of Linux kernel development experience. Ability to comprehend and develop functional changes to large code bases. Prior experience developing with ZFS or other file systems. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. Expertise with Linux and C, preferably in data storage technologies. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software development organization. Previous experience successfully delivering Linux kernel solutions, with examples. Proficient understanding of Linux kernel module debugging. Mastery of C and a strong understanding of file systems. Proficient understanding of version control tools (Git).
