Job Description

Web Application Engineer(JavaScript Developer)

We are seeking a Web Applications Developer with professional experience working with front end technologies. This position will support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in the Source Operations program.

Job Responsibilities:

” Develop and help implement innovative web applications to meet operational challenges and enhance future ways of doing business with web services based methods.

” Provide subject matter expertise and software development supporting operational teams on varying projects; write code for web-based applications, create robust high-volume production applications, agile development of solutions to operational issues.

” Manage projects, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and provide deliverables in a rapidly changing operational environment, design, develop, maintain, and enhance web-based software solutions.

” Collaborate with other organizations, agencies, R&D groups, and prototype developers to successfully create web based application solutions; shared source code and pair programming.

” Other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements:

” Active TS/SCI Clearance

” BS degree + 3 years’ experience (MS desired)

” Languages: Extensive Javascript experience with some knowledge/experience of Java and Groovy

” Open Source Experience (1 or more required): Hadoop, MongoDB, Hibernate, JUnit, node.js, Ehcach, Spring framework

” Familiarity with front-end libraries including jquery, d3, angular, bootstrap, openlayers, leafet, mustache.

” Other Tech Stack knowledge (1 or more required): REST, JSON, XML, AJAX, MYSQL, Apache, Linux, Rails, Python, Ruby

” Protocols: HTTP, SSL/TLS, TCP, UDP, IP

” Experience working with open source projects including asking questions, reporting issues, and providing patches (e.g. demonstration of github repo)

” Strong analytical skills with ability to learn new information quickly

” Strong willingness to continuously learn and stay familiar with latest software development techniques and technology

” Strong ability to perform independently and as part of a cross-functional team using open communication to deliver a team solution quickly

” Ability to collaborate with users and deliver innovative approaches to operational challenges
