Information Security Engineer- Splunk

The Information Security Engineer- Splunk will join as an Assistant Vice President with accountability for strategy and researching, designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting a complex Splunk implementation with a focus on information security and business reporting use cases.

The role will be a hands-on engineering position that requires a high degree of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to directly interact with other engineering, application development and front office teams to drive alignment on reporting, security requirements, influence decision makers, build relationships, and communicate strategy and architecture to the broader internal community.

Required Background/ Skills:

Experience with designing and deploying Splunk environments

3+ years Splunk experience including data onboarding, CIM Compliance, architecture design, implementation and maintenance, SPL (Splunk’s Search Processing Language)

Able to design and plan strategic Splunk changes and upgrades

Actively engaged in Splunk community, via User Groups, Answers and Splunk Live

Experience taking a project from requirements gathering through the design, testing, and deployment phases

Strong project management, experience managing and organizing sprints in Agile
development cycles, analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking and effective communication skills

Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight. Motivated and willing to learn

Must be comfortable in delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding

Ability to quickly diagnose the problem areas and come up with solutions and/or workarounds in a face paced environment

Ability to understand the requirements and analyze the technical feasibility and design against the requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience

One or more Splunk Architect or greater certifications preferred

Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: AWS CLI, Bash, Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python

Experience developing complex, production quality Splunk dashboards leveraging HTML, CSS, and Javascript
