Network Engineer

Position Overview:

Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its interworking's (DNS, Firewall zones, ACL's, IP Routing, SSL, VPN, Content Filtering, etc.)

Work as a team with the Senior Network Engineer to design and support a multi-site enterprise environment including IP subnetting, Ethernet WAN, DS3, T1, BGP, OSPF, QoS, etc.

Setup, configure and deploy complex wireless networks that support open guest and secured access across 150+ locations.

Manage assigned new business location projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.

Respond to internal inquiries from IT Support, corporate team members, business partners, application stakeholders, etc. to provide Level 2 escalated technical assistance and support.

Maintain an accurate and reliable Network Monitoring and Configuration Management System, including Solar winds, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, as well as a variety of open source tools.

Some local travel to satellite offices & new business locations may be required if any network issues arise

Position Requirements:

The position requires a B.A. or B.S. in a technical field.

Must have a CCNA certification that is current.

3+ years of professional networking experience (or equivalent combination of education
and experience), preferably in a multi-location retail or hospitality environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to prepare instructional
documentation are highly desirable

A thorough understanding of Cisco Routers and Switches, IP Telephony, Security appliances, their basic operation, and how to configure them with minimal supervision.

Experience with network protocols, managed in an enterprise environment.

Familiarity with network management tools and protocols, including snmp, netflow, IP SLA, Wireshark packet captures, and configuration management

Foundational knowledge of next-generation network engineering concepts such as SD-Access,
SD-WAN, Automation, NetConf, RestConf, Yang, Controllers and Orchestrators,

Understand the OSI Reference Model and TCP/IP fundamentals.

Experience managing and troubleshooting Controller-based wireless networks, with lightweight-access points.

Basic knowledge and understanding of IP Telephony, running in a Cisco Call Manager system.
