Sales and Use Tax Manager

Dallas, TX

Responsibilities

Preparation and review of client tax calculations, management of client tax relationships and returns related to state and local taxes

Thorough understanding of sales tax, state and local tax issues

Research sales tax issues, summarizing issues in written form for firm or client use

Manage and monitor multiple client engagements, serve and business advisor

Identify and implement tax planning and consoling opportunity by focusing on client service skills and strong relationships with clients

Coordinate development of planning activities on engagements including time budgets

Ability to plan, perform and deliver work independently

Ensure that deliverables are clear, concise and within guidelines

Assist in development and delivery of project budgets, timelines

Demonstrate an understanding of the client's operations and accounting system

Requirements

CPA with 5-7 years of sales and use tax in public accounting or equivalent

Bachelor's degree – Accounting, related field

Master's degree (preferred)

Thorough understanding of accounting issues and financial statement preparation

Excellent written and verbal communication

Proven ability to lead and develop team
