Financial Analyst Temp

Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation, review and delivery of our client’s external reporting of financial statements using Statutory Accounting Principles which includes the preparation and the review of the statutory journal entries.

This position will also ensure that all reporting submissions are filed on time, meet the highest standards and include comprehensive documentation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and deliver reporting of financial statements using Statutory Accounting Principles

Ensure all reporting submissions are filed on time, meet the highest standards and is supported by comprehensive documentation

Perform the GAAP to STAT reconciliation process and Fluctuation comparative analysis including preparing journal entries for any data that is not flowing through automated processes in data warehouse

Assist in the mapping of the State Categories of Service (COS)/Data Warehouse/General
Ledger AX interfaces to align medical costs in financial reports

Assist in responses to Regulatory inquiries

Connect with other departments to furnish or obtain factual information

Assist with adhoc analysis requests from management, auditors and various departments

Automate the report generation and optimize the use of Atlas to enhance financial reporting functions

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in a healthcare environment (i.e. hospital, network, ancillary, medical facility, healthcare vendor, commercial health insurance company, large physician practice, etc.)

Experience in preparing State Cost Reports, e.g. Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Report (MMLTCR), Health Statements and other Statutory Filings

Experience in financial reporting and analysis to include balance sheet and income statement analysis

Experience in manipulating large population of cost and utilization data from multiple data sources

Experience with base SAS programming and advanced excel functions including pivots, sum-ifs and lookups and other data manipulations

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or business related

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with MS Access functions that include to Macros and building tables for reporting purposes

Experience with creating and updated PowerPoint presentations

Knowledge in Statutory Accounting and Reporting principles

Familiarity with any accounting systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics AX or Globe Software Atlas)
