Senior Data Architect
Long Term Contract

Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to serve as our SME and to support a data architecture platform review for a leading financial institution.
Will be responsible for reviewing Enterprise Data technology processes, platforms, associated downstream systems and identifying improvement opportunities consistent with standards and best practices.
Job Duties:
Work closely with and assist the application owners to evaluate overall production data and QA processes including data distribution to downstream systems.
Conduct overall platform assessment while outlining gaps and areas for improvement.
Evaluate overall performance and process optimization objectives.
Evaluate existing standards against industry practices.
Evaluate integration with other solutions including Teradata, Informatica ETL capabilities, and mainstream RDBMS platforms.
Evaluate data model and physical implementation as required.
Evaluate operating principles, guidelines, and gaps in best practices.
Determine operational improvements recommendations.
Review roadmap, implementation plan, and upgrade path.
Facilitate adoption and implementation of performance, technical enhancements and/or any recommended upgrades or implementation of new features.
Define desired Future State and create implementation plan with key milestones
Required Skills/Background:
10-15 years Data Architecture and Enterprise Architecture
Must have experience moving enterprises from batch centric to Real-Time Architecture
Relevant experience in:
Enterprise Data Architecture
Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) Practices
EDW Solutions (preferably Teradata)
Relational Database Technologies (MS SQL Server, IBM DB2,)
Knowledge of Data Architecture & Data Modeling
ETL Tools & Utilities (Informatica)
Distributed & Batch Computing Best Practices
Enterprise Data & Infrastructure Standards
Experienced and knowledgeable in Enterprise Data & Infrastructure Standards
Experienced in analyzing, troubleshooting and apply best practice for usage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage well with senior management as well as line staff
Financial Services Experience a must (Wealth Management preferred)
