About Us

Our client is a leading manufacturer of writing instruments in the school, home, and office industries.

The ERP Systems Administrator will provide configuration, installation, security, in support of Dynamics AX / 365.

The ERP Systems Administrator will aid in managing, planning, coordinating, and operations of the company’s ERP system, including implementations and daily support using best practices for business operations and in accordance with IT corporate goals.

The ERP System Administrator will assist in planning and executing ERP projects in various areas including distribution/warehousing and manufacturing utilizing ERP software and other related applications.

The ERP System Administrator will be working closely with the ERP Systems Manager on projects including scoping, kick off, design, development, testing, implementation, training and change management.

The ERP Systems Administrator will expand the company’s use of data as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives.

This individual will also be expected to be hands-on with technology and will assist with ongoing support, reporting needs and end-user training in addition to coordinating internal and external resources.

The ERP Systems Administrator will aid in developing, coordinating, implementing and communicating the organization’s Internet-based strategies and initiatives for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Seek out opportunities to apply IT Systems solutions to company problems and providing recommendations regarding technical solutions that will improve business processes

Assist with the design/review of new applications and integration strategies for EDI systems

Contribute to establishing and implementing policies, procedures and technologies to ensure EDI system security

Coordinate with ERP Manager and company’s ERP suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies

Evaluate proposals to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations

Collaborate internally and with ERP consultants to implement a disaster recovery solution to enable business continuity

Ensure the success of enterprise-level application rollouts

Contribute with research on EDI related hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts

Maintains the Test/Dev systems used to support Dynamics AX/365. Assists in the configuration, review and analysis of business processes used by Dynamics AX/365 in all locations

Ensure that any ERP integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications

Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the ERP system

Prepare and deliver activity and progress reports for presentation to management

Back-up for setting up and maintaining trading partner profiles, maps and van services.

Back-up for maintaining and monitoring connections with van services and AS2 communications.

Back-up for setting up and reviewing testing documents with new EDI trading partners for accuracy.

Monitor the quality of parallel and live documents.

Communicate with trading partners on any EDI related topics including additions, and revisions.

Troubleshoot and resolve daily incoming /outgoing documents or transmissions that may have issues.

Generate reports to determine discrepancies. Communicate and respond to needs of sales, accounts receivable, customer service and trading partners.

Back-up for setting up and maintaining conversion tables that are required because of rules set by either the customer or Pen. Contact appropriate personnel to resolve issues.
Maintain and monitor AS2 software

Assist in Managing and maintaining administration and security of DYNAMICS AX/365.

Coordinate all customization requests with managed service vendor through their portal.

Work with user to try and resolve any local issues before they are forward to MS vendor.

Review all testing with users before any code is pushed to production.

Coordinate SQL DB maintenance with vendor and System Administrator to determine the efficiency.

Contact point for any user issues. Coordinate with vendor and users any upgrades of software.

Work with supervisors on security and setup of user groups.

Work with System Administrator for troubleshooting, system backups, archiving, disaster recovery and provide support when necessary

Manage training and implementation of new ERP projects for US, Monterrey MX, and Canada

Support Services - coordinate team meetings and direct service needs for US, Canada and Monterrey MX locations

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in supporting the direction, development, and implementation of ERP software solutions and support. 3+ Years of Dynamics AX Experience (AX 2009; AX 2012 R3, 365)

Ability to lead projects and deal with people with different skills sets and backgrounds

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures, within the IT field

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Proactive, responsible with a positive attitude

Knowledge of computer logic and methodology to perform task listed under principal duties and responsibilities

Experience with Manufacturing/Distribution Center operations including receiving, pick-packing, shipping and inventory control

Experience working multi-divisional, and/or multi-company distribution operations

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required

Ability to work independently and within a team

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Information Technology or Business degree with relevant Information System experience

Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives

Ability to conduct research into application issues and products

Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws

Experience with EDI implementations both inbound and outbound a plus
