DATA ENCRYPTION ARCHITECT

Seeking an experienced Data Encryption Architect for an established and growing professional services organization.

As part of the Security Services Team you will be the owner of the Data Encryption technical capabilities within the global company.

The Data Encryption Architect will play a key role in building and expanding the Data Encryption service and will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of Full Disk Encryption (FDE) capabilities, Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Email Encryption (EE) including monthly status reports and statistics as well as establish and maintain a roadmap pertaining to FDE, DRM and EE.

You will be the subject matter expect (SME) for topics related to data encryption

Responsibilities

The Data Encryption service delivers capabilities for protecting confidentiality, availability and integrity of the organization’s data (e.g. Full Disk Encryption, Digital Rights Management, Email Encryption, etc.).

Planning: working jointly with the direct manager, defines and aligns the service roadmap with stakeholders across the IT organization

Designing: is the subject matter expert and technical lead

Deploying: coordinates transition of new capabilities into Data Encryption service operations

Operating: leads and manages day-to-day operations (including management of MSSP/MDR/out-tasking resources)

Improving: works on to continuously improve the service, based on input across the IT organization and the IT industry at large

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the security industry as it relates to company including:

Standards, regulations and legislation

Threats and vulnerabilities

Technologies and solutions

Industry best practices

Client requirements and concerns

Represent the technical capabilities and act as a subject matter expert for related capabilities during response and recovery phases of information technology incidents

Maintain information security credentials and certifications as required to present a credible presence to internal and external audiences

Requirements

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)

10 years of information security experience, but will also consider applicants with an appropriate level of knowledge and experience

Track record in managing MSSP/Managed Detection and Response/Out-tasking vendors

Desirable additional related security and managerial certifications, e.g. CISSP, CEH, Security Plus, ITIL Foundations/SD/SO, LSS Yellow belt, etc.

Strong knowledge of software - and/or hardware-based Full Disk Encryption and/or file-based encryption

Knowledge of Email encryption (TLS, S/MIME, PGP)

Desirable - knowledge in Digital Rights Management/Rights Management Systems (Vera, Azure/ On-premise RMS)

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and teaming skills

Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to clearly define the problem and identify potential solutions that consider its broader impact

Ability to successfully interface and connect with skilled technologists and non-technical stakeholders

Able to effectively handle difficult and stressful situations with poise, tact and patience

Strong work management, organization and planning skills

High level of initiative, self-motivation, resourcefulness and collaboration

Ability to work well independently as well as part of a virtual, geographically-dispersed team bringing a sense of urgency to the tasks at hand

Must be able to perform successfully in a demanding, fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented, global (follow the sun) environment to interpret rules and guidelines, and flexibly to enhance the business and in keeping with the organization’s values and culture.
