Job Description

The Infrastructure Hosting team carries out engineering, integration and the 24 x 7 support activities required to provide a robust and reliable client / server infrastructure.

The hosting administrator role requires assets such as adaptability and flexibility, as systems are based not only locally in New York / New Jersey but in other geographical sites.

The role supports a highly demanding customer base that is heavily reliant on technology to compete in an extremely volatile business.

Primary responsibilitiest will be focused on the support of the Windows Server
Environment, Virtualization platforms and shared infrastructure services

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Technical Direction & Services

Knowledge of Supporting Windows Server technology (Physical and Virtual)

Knowledge of Supporting Hardware - server / blade technology

Knowledge of Support Virtual Platforms - VMWare / Citrix

Knowledge of Support for Microsoft Exchange Environment, Mail Gateways and SMTP flow

Experience with Active Directory scripting and Administration.

Day to day support of the hosting environment

Excellent understanding of Systems Management

Excellent understanding of patching products, process and best practices.

Excellent scripting Skills VB, PowerShell, and SQL.

Automation

Integrate solutions driven by the Engineering team into the Distributed Hosting Teams

Experience testing certifying and weighting hardware and software technology products.

Installation of hardware, software applications, security updates, service packs, etc.

Understanding of networking principles, practices and technologies, especially the TCP/IP protocol suite; preferred working knowledge of DNS, WINS and DHCP.

Active Directory management for user administration, security/group policies and file
management.

Create metrics, monitoring and system reports for a higher level of information, i.e., trends analysis and management of the "health” of the Client environment.

Resolve complex issues and conflicts

Promote innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implements best practices.

Continuously decrease Infrastructure costs

Testing and documentation.

Relationships & Communication

Provide superior client experience and strengthen relationship with business partner.

Develop criteria to evaluate 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises.

For complex projects, conduct due diligence; for less complex projects, oversee the process.

Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration, from initiation to close.

Collaborate with colleagues across the organization internationally to implement change.

Qualifications/Experience

7-10 years desktop support / engineering experience.

Strong understanding of the requirements of supporting Financial Markets Businesses.

Knowledge of principles of Service Management (Support and Delivery).

Knowledge and understanding of systems life cycles.

Strong grounding in all areas of Infrastructure Technology.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
