  • Job Description

    The individual will primarily provide desktop support and be the main point of contact to all hedge fund users and may also include Executives, Traders, Risk Management, etc. to address their requests and issues at the office and at their homes.

    This individual will also work with other IT personnel to resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

    Issues consist of a multitude of hardware and software problems on the desktop, including troubleshooting and supporting market data applications.

    It is required that the individual possesses outstanding customer service skills, excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organization skills.

    The candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of Windows 7, Active Directory, Altiris Client Management Suite (preferred) and Microsoft Office 2010.

    In addition to working during market hours, there is occasional work during off-hours, including weekends and holidays (On call 24/7).

    Work may need to be performed at other branch offices when needed (NY, London, etc.).

    Furthermore, this individual will have hands-on responsibility for daily IT Support operations mostly for desktops, laptops, handheld devices, etc. and the associated software selection and operations; although there could be support duties pertaining to security, network support and administration and some server systems administration.

    The responsibilities also include contract negotiations with vendors and the management of these relationships to ensure that contractual requirements are met.

    Minimum Requirements

    At least 3 years of information technology support

    Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Also, the ability to interpret user requests and explain resolutions to users in non-technical language.

    Excellent customer service and prioritization skills.

    Ability to lead and make decisions in highly pressurized situations, with minimal supervision, where there is a need to achieve results.

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows platforms and operating systems, including installation, administration, troubleshooting and security.
