Senior Financial Analyst

Senior Financial Analyst Summary: Prepare the accounting, analysis and financial reporting for purchased credit-impaired (PCI) loans and the receivables and liabilities related to loss-sharing agreements with the FDIC.

Participate in the valuation analysis of acquired loans and maintain the PCI loan accounting policies, procedures and internal control documentation for this critical accounting area.

Senior Financial Analyst Responsibilities:

Manage process for purchased credit-impaired (PCI) loans accounted for under ASC 310-30, including maintenance of LDC loan database, perform monthly loan data reconciliations to ensure data integrity, and prepare and/or review the credit impairment analysis.

Maintain PCI loan related general ledger accounts including preparing journal entries and reconciling ledger accounts following Valley's accounting policy.

Prepare the PCI loan and loss-share receivable detailed disclosure schedules for SEC and
Bank Regulatory Report filings on a quarterly basis.

Participate in project management of new acquisitions, specifically the review of the market valuation of PCI loans.

Manage the Bank's loss share reporting requirements with the FDIC.

Manage loss share receivable expenses and recoveries, including monthly journal entries.

Prepare the calculation of the FDIC clawback liability.

Assist in assessing the Bank's reserve for loan losses, including the implementation of the new CECL accounting guidance for PCD assets (formerly PCI loans) effective January 1, 2020.

Perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, strategic projects, cost analysis and budgeting.

Perform financial forecasting for cash flows, expected losses, interest income, loan prepayments and earnings.

Extract financial data from various accounting and information systems. Perform moderately complex statistical and financial analysis of financial reports and data and
prepares subsequent narrative analysis for management.

Provide financial support and analysis to management for strategic business decisions and cost savings initiatives.

Prepare and present materials to Senior Management, Executive Management and the Board of Directors.

Senior Financial Analyst Education:

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, finance, or accounting. 3-5 years
experience with corporate financial management preferred.

Preferred: MBA, Masters Degree or CPA
