CITRIX ENGINEER

Seeking an experienced Citrix Engineer to join an established global organization downtown Chicago.

The Citrix Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the stable operation, reliability, security and planned future of the assigned computer systems and the support of all the services on the assigned systems.

The Citrix Engineer will also be supporting the overall integration of the assigned systems enterprise-wide including participation in planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination with the business operations.

You will work closely with the architecture teams to deploy and operate system designs and perform security procedures and recommend policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal polices.

This role is at a senior level in a multi-platform-operating environment but from time to time will also analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

Responsibilities:

Diagnoses and resolves system problems.

Provide on-call technical support.

Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases for the system infrastructure to maintain service levels.

Monitor and test performance and provide statistics and reports to proactively identify potential problems and bottlenecks.

Ensures environment is secure and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed.

Reviews and studies assigned vendor software and hardware products to determine those that meet the company's needs.

Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts in conjunction with architecture team to ensure continuity of services.

Manage and/or provide guidance to outsourced vendors, junior members of the team, or other third party contractors involved with the management or provisioning of network resources.

Monitor and test performance and provide statistics and reports to proactively identify potential problems and bottlenecks.

Requirements:

College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science

5+ years working as a Citrix Engineer

Enterprise level (1000+ Citrix users) experience is required

Experience and/or certifications in Citrix and other appropriate technologies desired

Experience with Microsoft Server 2008R2 and 2012 Operating Systems is preferred

Citrix Xenapp 7.x administration

Netscaler 10.x or 11.x administration very nice to have

Windows Server 2008R2 and Windows Server 2012 administration

Basic Networking troubleshooting and configuration

Powershell Scripting desired but not required

Advanced working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and Active Directory.

Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.

Highly self-motivated and directed.

Keen attention to detail.

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.

Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Strong customer service orientation.

Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships.

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Knowledge of applicable PCI, SOX, and data privacy practices and laws.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Experience with ITIL processes and/or ITIL Foundations is a plus.
