Help Desk I
Contract to Hire
Greenwood Village, CO
PURPOSE
Under direct supervision responds to questions and diagnoses computer-related problems through a help desk system on-line or via telephone; typically resolves basic problems while refers more complex problems to a more experienced help desk or technical support staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Takes phone calls or on-line questions from computer system users relating to hardware, software and connectivity problems with desktop/laptop computers and peripheral equipment; typically discusses problem with user, diagnoses problem using working knowledge of company systems and equipment and advises user on how to solve problem or resolve issue; notes issue and resolution in help desk log.
Develops solutions through a process including problem recognition, research, isolation and resolution steps; may involve the use of problem management database and help desk systems.
Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.
COMPETENCIES
Working knowledge of applications and operating software and personal computer hardware
Working knowledge of LAN/WAN and internet
Customer service orientation
Knowledge of help desk problem management database systems
Good communications and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program
