Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Network Engineer maintains the corporate data center servers including software and hardware upgrades.

Work involves monitoring operational processes, proactively identifying issues and providing solutions to ensure the data center is functioning efficiently.

Maintain computer center equipment, hardware and software. Support the installation and maintenance of software products. Efficient in switches and routers and network troubleshooting.

Monitor critical processes such as the Office365/SQL/File Servers etc. to identify problems and implement solutions to minimize equipment down time for all network equipment.

Analyze and resolve various hardware and software calls that are reported into the Help
Desk for efficient problem resolution that relate to company network.

Perform remote diagnostics on data circuits and switch equipment for the data network.

Review daily job and log files, maintain production systems and perform other operations duties as required by the CIO.

Develops procedures and troubleshoots documentation for on-site support and remote user support.

Monitor security protection capability; recommend and implement safeguards that protect the computing environment.

Advise CIO of all occurrences that have a negative effect on systems and users.

Function as the primary data backup operator for all locations. Maintain all data backups in accordance with company procedures.

Complete user/file/server access control in accordance with company's Employee access control policy.

Manage consultants and vendors working on data center projects as needed.

Assist in maintaining and developing Disaster Recovery Projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience

5 years' experience or more & Associates degree or better in Computer Science or a related field.

Knowledge and training in Windows Servers/Desktops Operating Systems, and Microsoft
Office required.

Knowledge or experience with web servers, switches, firewall, telecommunications technologies, TCP/IP configurations and Security SIMs, etc.

Microsoft Systems Certifications Desired.
