Job Description
Senior Applications and Systems Engineer
Responsibilities:
Primary owner and SME for assigned applications and servers
Daily operations support functions including systems deployment, upgrade, patching, SME problem escalation and troubleshooting, incident response and resolution
Deploys and configures IIS, MS SQL clusters, DNS, SSL certificates and other system components
Supports, configures, and upgrades SharePoint 2013 configuration and architecture based on vendor best practice
Safeguards SharePoint environment integrity, recoverability, server security, and access permissions
Supports, configures and upgrades access management applications and underlying security components
Assists with MS System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) monitoring infrastructure configurations and creating dashboards
Collaborates with peers to address system security vulnerabilities and develops patch/upgrade plans
Follows defined ITIL change management processes and InfoSec security policies
Develops document such as upgrade plans, deployment plans, SOPs
Participates in team on-call rotation
Requirements:
8+ years’ operations administration experience with Windows Servers in a high availability, secured enterprise production environment
6+ years’ experience with SharePoint 2010/2013/2016 (two out of the three at least) and support of 3rd party tools
Strong working knowledge of SharePoint infrastructure with previous SharePoint upgrade experience
In-depth knowledge of networking, virtualization, storage, backup, physical server and other infrastructure components
PowerShell scripting
Preferred:
Python scripting experience is desired, but not a must.
Preferred experience with Active Directory, GPO, SCCM, VMware ESXi, Storage SAN, Backup software, MS Office Suite, MS Exchange
Preferred seasoned Linux (RHEL and CentOS) systems administrative skills, with Apache,
MySQL experience
