Job Description

Our Client is a Billion Dollar start-up unicorn that focuses on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions. Since established in 2007 they have grown to about 1000 employees with over 10 offices around the world.

They are currently seeking a Senior Engineer to join their team in their Boston Office which is responsible for maintaining and optimizing their GIT lab instance.

This would start off as an induvial contributor with the opportunity to grow into a lead role.

A look inside the job:

Continuously strive for the betterment of engineering at Datto

Work with Datto engineers to identify workflow pain points and develop their solutions

Engineer continuous delivery pipelines that are stable, maintainable, scalable, and secure

Be the bridge between software and systems engineering

Identify trends in need of a larger solution, beyond the scope of the immediate problem

Design and champion best practices within the organization

Solve complex and challenging problems with simple, maintainable, and scalable solutions

Utilize Open Source solutions where appropriate to stand on the shoulders of giants

Does your profile include:

3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer developing and maintaining an application

5+ years of experience with Linux administration (full stack or devops experience counts)

Experience with scripting and systems automation (bash, python, etc.)

Proficiency with git and ideally experience with collaborative use of GitHub or GitLab

A passion for configuration management; Puppet preferred, Ansible/Chef/Salt acceptable

Experience with infrastructure as code tools, e.g. Terraform, OpenStack Heat, etc.

The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills—documentation is a must

Good troubleshooting instincts and the ability to quickly triage/perform root-cause analysis

The desire and capability to see a problem through to completion

The ability to quickly acquire new skills and thrive in a team-based environment

Agility in an environment that requires rapid iteration and pivoting

A professional and courteous attitude

The ability to effectively manage time and push multiple projects at once

A willingness to perform other related duties as assigned

Being willing to periodically travel as required

Being available for off hours/on-call support; required
