Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst Job Description:

The position of Financial Analyst will provide support to the Controller. In addition,

Be a liaison to the budgeting/forecasting team,

Assist in the month-end closing process which will include variance analysis,

Overview manufacturing Variance and Sales Allowances and Discounts

Financial Analyst Major Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Assist Corporate Controller in preparing and finalizing month end closings for ALL of our multiple divisions and brands

As part of the month-end close process, the candidate will provide variance analysis of expenses and gross margin reconciliation which includes a thorough understanding of a standard costing model for a company that imports their products

Work with staff accountants during close process to ensure proper manufacturing and operating expense accruals are made

Develop models to improve the efficiency and accuracy of sales, sales dilutions, sales margin and operating expense forecasting by sharing results of month end closings to the F, P & A team

Update monthly sales and allowance reporting. Provide a model to better track allowance reporting

Actively participate in integration of any recently acquired companies into financials

Track monthly expenses and identify opportunities for savings

Reconciles and resolves charge-backs and provide updates to any new allowance trends to
Divisional Presidents and their assistants

Financial Analyst Requirements:

BS Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Cost Accounting and Financial Analysis

3-4 years of financial planning and accounting experience with a consumer products company that mainly imports their products and has a blend of wholesale and retail sales

Highly skilled in Excel, including pivot tables, macros and complex formulas in order to manipulate large amounts of data

Experience in Adaptive Planning and Insights Software

Experience with Lawson a plus
