QA Engineer

The QA Engineer will be responsible for manual testing and creating automated testing solutions/scripts for our Algorithmic trading applications.

The QA Engineer should be flexible, able to multitask in a fast-paced team environment where time to market is key.

The QA Engineer should also be independent, quick learner and effective communicator as this role requires working with various teams.

Description/Responsibilities:

Develop detailed test plans, execute these tests per plan and analyze and report the test results.

Design and create automated test frameworks and test scripts using a scripting or development language.

Maintain and extend automation frameworks ensuring they are kept up to date for maximum test coverage.

Assist developers in quickly investigating problems reported in UAT and production systems, and in reproducing the scenarios.

Provide feedback on both technical and business issues to Product Management and Software Engineers.

Contribute to the integrity of the test plans, test cases, test data, and test environments.

Upgrade and maintain updated unit testing and integration testing environments.

Open issue/defect reports and record problems in defect tracking software.

Be a team player and effective communicator with various teams. Be a quick learner and contributor.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

Proven knowledge of quality assurance and software testing methodologies.

Proven knowledge of server and backend testing.

Experience working in a Windows, UNIX, LINUX environments.

Experience with scripting languages such as, Perl, Python, PowerShell, Lua, etc.

Experience in writing automation frameworks.

Previous experience diagnosing and resolving complex test environment configuration issues.

Strong written and verbal communication - must be able to clearly describe and discuss problems.

Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of both large and small
teams in a fast paced, team oriented environment.

Experience with source control tools preferred.

Experience with Agile methodologies preferred.

Knowledge of Equity markets preferred.
