Job Description
Our client located in Wilmington, DE is looking to hire a Network Engineer to join their team.
Enterprise Network Engineer
Support the enterprise environment including network administration, Firewall administration, VolP administration and WLAN administration
Responsibilities
Network Administration
Proactively monitor and manage a complex enterprise Network environment consisting of Cisco switches, routers and gateways, Nexus 7K, ASR routers.
Proactively monitor data traffic patterns within network infrastructure, detect operational problems and recommend improvements to ensure optimal performance. Make recommendations to management on enhancements to the network that will improve the quality and reliability of the networks performance.
Perform network closet remediation consisting of labeling and documenting all connected patch cables along with a detailed Visio diagram of the data rack elevations in all network closets.
Design, prepare, and deliver network performance reports detailing network status for management in an easy to understand manner.
Provision and schedule regular backups of all network switches and routers.
Firewall Administration:
Proactively monitor and manage a complex enterprise firewall infrastructure consisting of
Checkpoint, FTP and Cisco ASA servers.
Meet with auditors and cybersecurity teams to ensure firewall devices meet audit and control guidelines. May be required to design reports to ensure access and audit controls are in place and working as designed.
Maintain documentation relating to the Enterprise Firewall configuration and implementation.
Manage the physical firewall rule base and objects as well as any upgrades or enhancements to the firewall servers.
Design, prepare, and deliver firewall performance reports detailing network status for management in an easy to understand manner.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
An undergraduate degree in a related field
(CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP R&S) designation)
A minimum of 3-5 years related experience in a medium to large network environment.
Demonstrated expertise with network monitoring tools, SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to multi-task and back up other team members
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio
Participate in an on-call rotation
Eager to learn and keep up with technology
