Our Client is a leading global financial services firm providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services.

The Firm’s employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments & individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.

They are currently looking to add a senior mainframe developer to their Brokerage team.

Primary Responsibilities:

IT Senior Developer within Brokerage’s CFT Group with primary focus on development, maintenance and support of Mainframe Applications mainly in Cost Basis Taxlot Accounting area.

This position is for a hands-on senior application developer who will be responsible for working with multiple IT groups and delivering major application development projects.
The candidate will be part of full lifecycle of software development projects, working with onsite and offshore team.

The candidate will play a Mainframe Lead Developer in Cost Basis Taxlot Accounting area.
Experience with middle office trades processing would be highly desirable.

Specific assignments will depend on the size and complexity of the project but will generally include:

Analyzing existing designs and interfaces and creating design extensions or enhancements.

Interpreting business requirements, functional specifications, and visual system designs

Proactively identifying and managing issues to full resolution

Creating and delivering software solutions, involving in full software development lifecycle

Ownership of application components and ensure timely delivery of the same

Ensure quality of deliverables

Skills required (essential):

Hands-on technical experience in developing and delivering Mainframe solutions using
technologies including: COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL

Solid application and database design experience

Extensive experience in analysis and design

Excellent programming and debugging skills

Experience performing planning, architectural design, technical analysis and development of medium to high complexity projects

Track record of delivering results in complex or ambiguous environments

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent written/oral communication skills and listening skills

Ability to communicate effectively across all levels within Technology, Business and
Operations

Knowledge of trade processing, clearance, Back Office Financial Brokerage Operations processing

Skills desired:

Development experience within the financial/banking industry strongly preferred

Knowledge on IRS cost basis regulations

Knowledge on CICS web services, IBM Websphere MQ.

Working knowledge of cross platform - Mainframe Distributed and Web technology
