EMBEDDED SYSTEMS - AUTOMATION & INTEGRATION ENGINEER

Allen/Richardson, TX

Direct Hire: Base + Profit Sharing

Our client's Embedded Systems team is growing and they are looking to add a Senior Automation/Integration Engineer!

The Automation/Integration Engineer will conduct functional, security compliance, environmental, operational, and performance tests on electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and software products and systems.

The Automation Engnieer will also need to analyze product requirements to determine feasibility of testing / validation within time and cost constraints.

What You'll Do:

Operating in an Agile development environment, including Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD).

Deliver, maintain, and modify Robot Framework based test automation

Integrate Jenkins-Robot for building test automation pipeline.

Deliver Python scripts for test automation, building/augmenting automation framework, and
infrastructure for integration with tool-chains and dashboards.

Work with software engineering to develop APIs and CLIs to support automated testing, remote testing/diagnosing, and fault injection.

Design, develop, modify and execute test plans using scientific analysis and/or mathematical models to predict and measure outcome.

Work with Customer Service and Technical Support teams to help resolve customer issues.

Evaluate and identify new technologies appropriate for implementation.

Create detailed test and validation documentation.

Accurately scope tasks and implement them in accordance with the plan.

Skills/Experience You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or another related field

7+ years of relevant experience experience in Test Automation and Integration, preferably with embedded systems/products

Must have experience working in an Agile environment with CI/CD.

3+ years of experience with Python and/or Robot Framework after 2014

3+ years of experience in automation using Jenkins after 2014

Must have experience validating end-to-end systems and solutions

Must have experience with Linux operating system and CLI

Must have experience validating hardware components

Must have exposure to testing for product security vulnerabilities

Experience with hardware troubleshooting and validation (PCBs, EOL components, GPS antennas)

Demonstrate aptitude in recognizing and solving problems as part of a team or individually.

Demonstrate ability in testing/validating complex systems and software designs.

Must understand test coverage metrics and ability to project accurate state of test readiness, test completeness, and time to finish.
