FULLSTACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Ashburn, VA

Base + Bonus

We are hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to help our Client expand and modernize their suite of products.

The Software Engineer will focus on full stack development and contribute to the development of their existing website, their customer-facing registration databases and engineering applications, a variety of internal tools, as well as help develop new SaaS products.

The Software Engineer will have the opportunity to participate in architecture decisions and lead different development efforts.

As such, some very interesting challenges are likely, and we are looking for someone who relishes the opportunities and demands that this setting provides.

In this position you will always be encouraged and expected to contribute ideas to improve the company’s technology and products.

What You’ll Do:

Design and develop functional and appealing web- and mobile-based applications based on best practices, usability and performance

Advise on and lead multiple development activities

Use various frameworks to develop efficient applications

Provide website maintenance and enhancements

Ensure the technical feasibility and security of UI/UX designs

Use modern web application languages

Write functional requirement documents and specifications

Create quality wireframes, mockups and prototypes on tight timelines

Assure that all user input is validated before designing applications

Work with various development and collaboration tools including JIRA, Confluence,
Perforce, Bitbucket, Jenkins and Git

Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface

Provide technical leadership making sure software and products stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

Promote usability best practices

Skills/Experience You’ll Need:

BS in computer science or related field

5+ years of development experience, including extensive experience in:

Building web applications using JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5

Responsive and adaptive design

Client-side libraries application frameworks like React, Redux, Bootstrap or Angular, Backbone.js, jQuery or jQuery UI

Working with a relational database such as Postgres, Oracle or MySQL, including schema design, as well as SQL

Any experience with the following is preferred and a plus!

Application design and development using Java and Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate

Content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress

Agile/Scrum development and open source projects

Experience with Cloud technologies such as AWS and Docker

Domain knowledge in the areas of RF algorithms and GIS

Adobe Creative Suite
