Job Description
Virtual Workspace Service (VWS) delivers measurable business value by providing core desktop technology solutions that meet business demand while realizing cost efficiencies.
VWS works with our Line of Business partners to develop standardized, resilient operating environments and implement a global technology strategy for the firm's 260,000 end users and 125,000+ virtual access users.
The individual selected for this position will be a member of the End User Services VDI Operations team.
To ensure that the VDI service is available to clients, the candidate will be responsible for providing operational support for multiple back-end components, including engineering, implementation, and business-as-usual activities.
The responsibilities also cover daily health checks, configuration reviews, capacity management, incident management, root cause analysis, service improvement programs, risk management, security patching, general maintenance activities are important parts of this job, as are the implementation and acceptance of new technology into the environment.
The individual will work closely with other teams, especially those providing engineering, infrastructure (server hardware/OS, NAS, SAN, network), project management, and lower-tier client support services.
Support is provided as part of a continuous global operations model via follow the sun.
Hours of coverage will vary in order to provide 24x7 Coverage across all regions.
Job description:
VDI Ops Technical Skills:
- Citrix XenApp 6.5, 7.x
- Strong in general Windows technology (Win7, Win10, Win2K8, Win2K16, WDS)
- Strong in operation and support functions
- Scripting / automation / PowerShell is a plus
- Client Moonshot hardware skill is a plus
Onboarding and Capacity Management Skills
- Strong in using Microsoft Excel
- Analytical and number crunching
- User Migrations and AD group memberships
- Understand and able to manage VDI capacity
