Job Description
VMware Systems Administrator
Financial Services Client
Jersey City. NJ
6+ month contract to hire
Your role would be to:
On-boarding new hosts and clusters into cloud/non-cloud management
Managing and supporting virtual workloads, including network, disk and compute
Maintenance, patching and remediation of the hypervisor infrastructure
L3 support for virtual workload issues, including performance analysis and sizing
Automation of provisioning, support, and maintenance functionalities to improve efficiencies
Work closely with application management and development teams to meet all infrastructure requirements.
This role is for you if you demonstrate:
Minimum of 5 years of experience with VMware vSphere, vRA, vSAN, vRO, NSX, & VCF. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, RedHat Linux and VMware.
Familiarity with how hypervisor hosts consume and manage network/storage: specifically fiber channel SAN and Network infra including VLANs and trunking
Experience with VRealize Operations is a plus
Strong scripting skills - Python highly preferred, Shell, Bash, PowerShell
Blade server infrastructure and support tools, including Cisco UCS, is a plus
P2V tools and/or virtual to virtual migrations is a plus
Hyper-V running on Windows 2012R2 or later in a Failover cluster configuration
Experience with Ansible or other orchestration tools is a plus
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or similar containerization engine is a plus
