Job Description

The E-Commerce Quality Assurance Engineer shall be a proven Quality Assurance professional that can contribute to building quality processes that meets the needs of our rapidly growing business and e-commerce technology application stack.

Extensive hands-on experience in writing test plans and test cases, performing simple to complex test execution for front and back-end testing requirements, analyzing test results for trends and managing defects to resolution status to ensure accuracy in certifying testing cycles and regression testing.

The QA Engineer will contribute to team meetings and the overall engineering process.

This role requires an individual that is able to take initiative and has the capability of executing manual and automation QA test scripts throughout the development cycle. This individual must be a critical thinker who can efficiently solve problems and work well with a diverse team.

Must be detailed oriented, diligent and coordinate multiple tasks within the team and understand the entire software development lifecycle.

This will include writing test plans, creating test cases/scripts, recreating and tracking defects and related fixes during development, SIT, and Production releases.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities:

The QA Engineer will be responsible for the following:

Creating comprehensive Test Strategies and Test Plans

Creating Test Cases/Scripts to ensure test case coverage for user stories and defects as required

Perform testing for responsive web design and mobile applications on emulator tool and on physical devices

Tracking test progress throughout Sprint/Release cycles communicating test results, issues and project risks

Producing Trace-ability metrics for requirements (user stories), test cases and defects

Maintaining Regression test suite at the end of each Sprint to ensure regression test cases are up to date

Working with customer-facing teams providing support to reproducing issues and gathering steps to recreate for hand off to development

Assisting Customer support team triaging defects and troubleshoot production issues as soon as they are identified

Ability to determine the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on Post-Production (escape) defects after each release

Monitor testing milestones/deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects

Track and report out current status and trend over time against key quality metrics

Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management

Document, manage and prioritize issues in Jira (issue tracking system) and follow up to ensure resolution by the development team

Communicate critical issue status and resolution to all concerned stakeholders (customers, customer service, solutions team, marketing

team)

Define and document non-functional requirements of an application (stability, performance, usability, maintainability, security)

Understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments

Experience - Required:

Min (5-7) years of experience as a QA Engineer/Analyst

5+ years writing high-level test scenarios and detailed test cases

5+ years create structured test strategies and plans for all projects

5+ years developing and executing test cases, scripts, plans and procedures

3+ years mobile testing for responsive web and mobile applications

3+ years with various test management tools creating traceability metrics

3+ years working knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum Methodology

3+ years working with Jira and Confluence collaboration tools or similar tools

Experience - Preferred:

2+ years experience in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using QTP, or Cucumber with Selenium

5+ years of direct experience as a Senior tester for major application integrations and/or major application product release.

2+ writing and understanding queries written in SQL database environments

Experience with the Zephyr test management tool

Strong background in, and at least 2+ years of working in tooling or QA automation

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related technology related professions
