Job Description

Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will you will design, develop & automate engineering process with an AI company in Reston, VA.

You will contribute to producing new software by developing automation as well as re-engineering open source alternatives.

This role will be crucial in helping to scale-up and grow the existing product offerings of this firm. Our ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, fantastic attitude and be comfortable tackling challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead/contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around SaaS Platform Engineering, developer and engineering productivity

You will be writing code and scripting for automation and creating scalable CI/CD processes

Design and build advanced automated build, test and release infrastructure

What you bring to the team

Experience with one of more general-purpose programming languages and scripting skills paired with understanding of how production environments work and the ability to re-engineer and build frameworks

A keen interest in solving problems. Non-performing services are more interesting than annoying

A positive attitude around learning new skills and capabilities

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or 8 years of relevant work experience

7-10 years of experience

Adept at learning and applying new technologies and solving new problems

Excellent communication skills with experience interacting with senior level management and executives

Strong technical expertise in several of the following technologies:

Cloud computing: AWS, Terraform

Configuration Management: Ansible, Puppet

CI/CD: Jenkins, Maven, SBT, Git, SonarQube

Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres

Programming: Java

Scripting languages: Python, Perl, Shell Scripting

Systems: Linux/Unix administration, Networking fundamentals

Tools: Vault, NGINX
