Description
The Windows Systems Engineer Consultant will be responsible for assisting with the administration and support of the organization's computer systems in a highly virtualized environment.
This position requires a strong technical background in Exchange Messaging and Office 365.
The ideal candidate for this position will have an "automation mindset”. Repetitive tasks are never done manually.
Primary Responsibilities
Support the corporate messaging platforms, including the implementation and maintenance of these.
Support the Windows Server and Desktop environment.
Provide end users with Level 3 support for both Microsoft Exchange and Outlook when necessary.
Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues. Must be able to operate under minimal direction.
Work on system initiatives and new projects
Position Requirements
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid on and off premise environment. Must be familiar with Office 365.
Understanding of and experience with Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory &
Domain architecture, NTFS permissions, DNS, OS security and systems patching. Must know security best practices and implementation for Microsoft technologies.
Demonstrate the ability to automate.
Must have scripting skills - batch, PowerShell, VB..
Experience with VMWare virtualization software and deployment best practices
Experience deploying enterprise-wide applications.
Knowledge of desktop VDI a plus - Citrix
Knowledge Cloud technologies a plus – AWS/Azure
Other requirements
Must have ability to communicate complex technical problems concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences.
The individual must be able to handle a high pressure / fast paced environment.
Some after hour maintenance will be expected.
