Job Description

Job Summary

As a core team member, you will work as a key member of the Application Support and Quality Assurance Team within IT Services at our client.

This position will be constructing and executing test plans that ensure our software exceed all quality and performance requirements while working collaboratively with our Change Management team to apply required methodologies and processes to make sure deliverables meet company's highest standards.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Testing

Provide accountability on the technical strategy for testing and quality assurance on our applications

Designs, develops, and executes manual and automated test cases using test plans and functional specifications.

Prepares data sets by analyzing functional requirements; collects data for test cases.

Participates in software requirement, specification and design reviews.

Develop and maintain enterprise scalable test automation frameworks.

Design test automation for web-based platforms, web services, APIs, and legacy telnet applications.

Partner with agile development team members to provide technical guidance on creating agile test automation solutions, accelerating our SDLC processes and meeting critical business objectives

Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing test results; making recommendations.

Evaluate new technology or processes to support sustainable, continuous test automation.
Leadership

Mentor peers and staff on quality engineering, network with development teams within our client and derive automation best practices for continuous improvement.

Oversees the coordination of testing effort across multiple development projects at a time.

Leads the QA effort in process planning and documentation.

Skills

Understanding of QA practices (black box testing, risk based testing, system testing, regression testing, exploratory testing practices)

Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects, Development, QA/Testing and Business teams

Working knowledge of Agile, Iterative development process and methodologies is essential

Strong problem-solving skills including ability to disseminate complex ideas in a simplified fashion

Hands-on experience in building and executing Web Platform testing, web services/API tests.

Legacy application testing experience a Plus (UNIX telnet based screens)

Behavior Driven Development (BDD) experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science preferred, or related field and/or experience.

5 years software testing experience in a professional software development environment

Experience leading multiple, simultaneous quality assurance efforts, and a track record as a mentor while providing quality assurance leadership in a test lead capacity
