Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Cloud Automation Engineer for a global enterprise customer.
This role will be responsible for all automation needs for on-premises infrastructure as well as cloud (primarily Azure).

This person must have 5+ years of experience with Puppet (preferred) or Chef.

This person must be very passionate about infrastructure as code.

This person will work with and interface with multiple teams to automate their needs and requirements as well as maintain all of the infrastructure and setup in cloud through automation.

Will be responsible for all automation in cloud from deploying servers, networks, VLAN, load balancers, and resource pools.

This person will need to think out of the box and looks for ways to improve the environment in cloud and on-premises through automation.

Will also work with tools and API of different software we have in place and look to leverage and setup direct automation with those tools such as interfacing with VMware to deploy on-premises virtual workloads and various other tools and infrastructure components.

Cloud Automation role will be responsible for:

All cloud initiatives the company is looking to implement or go to.

Looking at all public cloud offerings, what they have, what they offer and how it will fit in our existing environment.

Working with vendors closely on their offerings, documenting the offerings, working with internal support teams on how Cloud can be leveraged and then doing a technical design and architecture plan on how to implement.

Working on implementing automation for on-premises and cloud

Working to write scripts and automation for infrastructure and cloud

Support of all cloud in Azure and AWS

Troubleshooting Azure and AWS

Extensive experience with DevOps and Automation using various tools such as Puppet, Chef, and TerraForm.

Extensive experience in writing code using automation tools

Experience with automation, cloud, and virtualization.

Purpose of this role is to:

Help drive the adoption of cloud and automation and providing appropriate recommendations and technical design to overcome blockers such as networking, security, compliance, and identity.

Provide deep technical expertise and support in Cloud an Automation and the following areas as it relates to cloud such as data center transformation to cloud, custom
applications, and infrastructure integration and infrastructure as code.

Write code and scripts to implement "infrastructure as code”.

Maintain tools and code to automate cloud and on-premise.

Understand infrastructure, DevOps, and coding for automation needs.

Skills Required:

5+ years of cloud and automation experience in Azure, Amazon, and automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and others such as TerraForm.

5+ years' experience working in automation and DevOps

Strong understanding of cloud, automation, and infrastructure

Strong troubleshooting skills for cloud and automation

Experience in automating Cloud, and infrastructure, service now, and virtualization like VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper-V.

Strong experience in implementing orchestration and automation.

Experience in successfully deploying cloud in an enterprise

Experience in successfully deploying Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Experience in successfully deploying Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Experience with versioning tools such as GIT and TFS.

Experienced in scripting and coding a must.

5+ years of architecture design, implementation, and support of highly distributed setups (ensure high availability and reliability)

2+ years of experience in migrating on-premises workloads to the public cloud

Deep technical experience in IaaS

Ability to connect on-premises technology to cloud offerings

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively and follow through

Have excellent problem-solving skills utilizing both internal and external resources to get the job done. Work through issues and challenges

Ability to do technical design and documentation.

Have excellent technical leadership

Self-starter and motivator and ability to work in team and solo
