Job Description
POSITION SCOPE:
The position of Senior Fund Accountant is responsible for providing basic full-cycle accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintains general ledgers
Calculates periodic fund net asset value and performance returns
Delivers monthly financial packages to fund managers
Performs period end closes along with completing special reporting specific to each fund
Distributes capital statements to each investor
Provides daily operational support for funds, including banking services, generating wire transfers, bank account transfers, and account set up
Prepares financial statements, footnotes, and audit support files
Works closely with auditors in conjunction with fund audits
Maintains and updates investor records
Assists clients with online portal access and questions
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline required, Master's degree preferred
CPA license preferred
3-6 years' related experience – fund accounting experience preferred
Proficiency in MS Office
Must have intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, comfortable with simple and moderately complex Excel formulas and tools
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of QuickBooks or comparable accounting package, and
Advent Geneva or other fund accounting software experience a plus
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and effectively manage client workload
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of professionals (colleagues, fund managers, investors) verbally and in writing
Ability to analyze financial statements, and understand performance trends
