Help Desk Technician

IT Help Desk Technician's role is to provide a single point of contact for end-users for all technical issues. Responsibilities include;

Acting as first tier support of end-user IT needs, both hardware and software, desktop and laptop PC configuration, installation and maintenance

Serves as technical advisor, providing front telephone, remote desktop, and onsite desktop support for system users by identifying problems, troubleshooting, repairing, and providing advice to assist users to resolve issues, or conferring with the appropriate personnel, from other areas if necessary, in order to resolve issues.

Installs, configures, tests, maintains, and upgrades PC hardware and equipment, in a primarily Microsoft Windows-based environment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
<>oInitiates tracking and reporting of issues, as well as recommends means for system improvement including procedural steps, increased training, and enhanced documentation.

<>oEnsures the most complex customer issues are promptly addressed, documented and resolved in a timely and professional manner consistent with the highest customer service and professional / technical standards.

<>oPrioritizes and escalates computer related issues as necessary.

Will act as the first tier support on computer related issues; responding to inquiries and requests for assistance with the organization's computer systems or PCs.
Collaborate with Network Administrators to ensure efficient operation of the desktop computing environment.




Associate's degree/MCSE/ MCDST/ A+ certification or equivalent work experience in desktop support and customer service environments.



2 years progressively responsible experience, demonstrating in-depth working knowledge with a broad range of desktop support technology and best practices.

Windows 7 installation and deployment

Dell Desktop Manager deployment and maintenance

Office 2010 / 2013 installation and support

Kaspersky support

Active Directory 2010 knowledge of structure and security (GPO)



iPhone and Android mobile support

Dell/ MAC desktop and laptop support

Cisco IP phone configuration
