Job Description

We are currently conducting a search for a Senior Accountant within the Fixed Asset group of a fortune 500 organization in Miami, FL.

This is an opportunity to join a very respectable company where your peer group will be former big 4 CPA’s.

This role offers exposure to high level executives and the opportunity to advance.

The right candidate will either have their CPA or be in process.

This role is in the Fixed Asset group so prior experience with fixed assets is ideal.

Major Responsibilities

Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger, including recording fixed asset activity in the sub-ledger and general ledger.

Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger.

Work closely with IT to properly capitalize and amortize internal-use software projects.

Prepare capital spending and cash flow analysis on a monthly basis.

Assist the Financial Planning and Analysis Department with preparing the annual budget for capital spending and depreciation.

Prepare reports and documentation to facilitate the Company’s external and internal audit processes, including SOX compliance testing .

Participate in continuous process improvement efforts.

Perform accounting research related to fixed asset transactions, as needed.

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills and Knowledge Required

Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

Strong technical accounting skills, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Strong project management and problem solving skills.

Fixed asset accounting experience preferred.

Education and Experience (minimum level of experience and education required to do the job)

Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.

CPA certification or commitment to pursuing CPA.

3 years prior experience required.
