Job Description

Develops technical vision and roadmaps without supervision. Writes for publication. Shares long-term technical and business vision to large audiences on a regular basis.
Makes decisions of a global, strategic nature by analyzing complex data systems and incorporating knowledge of other lines of business.

Is recognized as a positive leader and is capable of defusing complicated interpersonal issues while managing customer expectations.

Spearheads complex programs that span multiple inter-organizational units and interfaces with more experienced management.

Is a leader in identifying critical, high pay-off technology strategies and prioritizes team efforts accordingly.

Possesses advanced knowledge of business application and services.

Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.

(7) Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget

(8) Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms

(9) Technical certifications as required. This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource.

Technical Skills:

Experience troubleshooting OS (Windows/Linux) issues as to application performance, network communication issues impacting application performance, understanding / working knowledge of various attached / detached storage types, and databases (Oracle/SQL).

Thorough understanding of Active / Passive as well as Active / Active resiliency solutions.

Advanced written and oral communication capabilities; ability to influence and
successfully interface with other team members as well as managers at least two levels up.

Experience should include a broad cross section of UNIX and Windows technologies

3 + years scripting and automation (Perl and Shell scripting, etc…)

Must have experience with at least one of the following monitoring tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, CA Wily

Strategic view of a broad cross section of UNIX and Windows technologies

Prior experience in capacity planning, systems performance analysis and optimization

The position requires one to two years’ experience in monitoring.

Experience working in an Agile environment

Good understanding of DevOps practices.

Advanced Infrastructure skillsets

Good understanding of cloud, working knowledge would be better

Engineer monitoring capabilities to meet performance, security, high availability and other requirements.

• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.

• Lead design, Engineering and development of monitoring solutions via various products including: Dynatrace, Wily, Tivoli, Splunk, Edge, custom solutions, etc.

• Leveraging the firm’s Hybrid Cloud Reference Architecture, build a monitoring architecture that ensures we have the right tools in the right places for our application infrastructure
