Software Engineering Manager – Home Lending IT - Originations

As a Software Engineering Manager in Home Lending IT - Originations, you will be responsible for leading multiple scrum teams situated across locations to deliver high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within both emerging and mature technology environments.

You will work with your business partners to strategize, plan, develop, and implement solutions to meet growing business needs.

Role

Technical Leadership and Mentorship to tech teams aligning with Business-IT strategy

Define business IT strategy with key stakeholders

Enhance operating model including Agile Upscaling and globalization

Keep projects under IT-budget with continuous efficiencies in delivery

Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, quality assurance analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution.

Participate in design reviews, architectural assessments and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with both Project Life Cycle Methodology and approved SDLC standards in all planning steps.

Ensure teams adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development, and testing. Additionally, your team will need to incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications

Significant contribution to people management activities and year end appraisals and calibration

Minimum 10 years of Application Development work experience.

Proven management skills with solid experience in leading technical teams across globe

Outstanding communication, time management, and team/people management skills.

Experience with project delivery including intake, prioritization, assignment, and level of effort determination, project tracking methodology compliance, initiation, execution, closure and controls.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Tech Skills : .NET, Java, Oracle, SOAP Web Services, Splunk, Selenium, Jules

Agile project management experience, including use of agile project management tools (i.e. Confluence, JIRA, Git, etc.).

Familiarity with modern software engineering methodologies DevOps, TDD, CI/CD

Provide mentoring and leadership to the organization including year end appraisals, client, and junior members of the organization, as well as serving as a role model for the enterprise.

Excellent understanding and governance over demand, capacity and IT risk management

Maintaining strong peer and supplier relationships

Analyze emerging technologies and translate implications of the new technology into an effective IT vision and strategy.

Provide support for multi-year IT strategies to meet multi-year business strategies Managing design and development resources in both domestic and offshore locations

Drive any issues identified during requirements or design to closure with limited guidance.

Proven track-record of improving processes and driving efficiencies.

Manage changes to project scope and limiting impacts to project delivery.

History of effective communications and coordination with Business partners and peer organizations.

Experience in Mortgage Banking a plus.

Experience with Credit Risk Management a plus.

Experience in Business Analysis and/or Project management roles a plus.

Bachelor's degree (Preferably in computer technology, engineering or related field)

Expert skills with best of breed design patterns using distributed computing techniques geared towards high performance, multi-threading, and Micro-Services

Possess the required technical skills for the legacy technical stack (COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and MQ) as well as the target state technical stack (java, Linux, spring boot, internal/external cloud, open source technologies such as Cassandra, Kafka, Hadoop and Storm)

Able to collaborate with agile/feature teams and project teams by providing governance guidelines and architecture principles. Hands-On participant in architecture Proof of Concept activities and performance tuning framework software. Experience leading teams thru large scale transformation projects is a plus.

Strong People management experience. Experience working with vendors on integration is desirable.
