Software Development Engineer in Test

These systems enable us to execute algorithmic trading strategies based on patterns in market behavior.

By building and maintaining this high-performance infrastructure developers have helped to position the firm as a leader in the field of quantitative trading.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and test bare-metal and cloud-based Kubernetes clusters that span tens to thousands of nodes

Work with network and storage teams to deliver, monitor, and improve networking and storage offerings in Kubernetes

Help other teams containerize their applications and develop operators. Determine workflows/best-practices for deployment

Set access control and quota policies. Determine user-onboarding, workload placement, and cluster upgrade strategy

Collect metrics and use them to analyze cluster resource utilization and performance

Troubleshoot and debug issues affecting the cluster

Qualifications

A technical degree from an accredited university

At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, development operations, or Linux administration, with at least 1-2 years working with Kubernetes

Deep understanding of containerization, container networking, and Kubernetes

Fluency in at least one programming language with preference toward Python

Working knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment

Working knowledge of some configuration management system (such as Salt or Ansible)

Troubleshooting ability, desire to automate, whatever-it-takes attitude, and focus on end-user experience
