FINANCIAL CRIMES COMPLIANCE GOVERNANCE AND CONTROLS ANALYST

JOB SUMMARY:


To assist in the execution of the duties of the Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) Program Governance unit within the BSA Department.

Assist the VP Program Governance to ensure that all the Bank's FCC Department units understand and comply with the Bank's BSA/ AML Compliance Policy and BSA/ AML and OFAC Procedures.

Assist the VP Program Governance in ensuring compliance with the Bank's overall BSA/ AML Compliance Program and work with key stakeholders to address potential issues as they arise.

Work across FCC Department to ensure that units are operating in an efficient manner and recommend process changes as appropriate.

Promote a strong culture of BSA / AML and OFAC / Sanctions compliance in all interactions across the bank.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assisting the VP Governance in working with business unit managers to ensure compliance with the Bank's overall BSA/ AML Compliance Program.

Working with the VP Governance to ensure FCC Department unit staff maintain compliance with their respective procedures.

Conducting reviews and investigations of BSA / AML and OFAC / Sanctions processes, in particular for accuracy, efficiency, root cause analyses and ultimately formulating recommendations for enhancement with the VP Governance.

Maintaining a high degree of relevant knowledge with respect to BSA / AML and OFAC /
Sanctions laws and regulations. This includes monitoring new and proposed BSA / AML and OFAC / Sanctions-related legislation and regulatory requirements for review by the VP Governance.

Preparing meeting minutes for the Steering Committee as directed by the VP Governance.

Preparing meeting minutes for the FCC Compliance Committee (of the Board of Directors) as directed by the VP Governance.

Assisting in the coordination of major annual projects as well as ad-hoc projects as directed by the VP Governance.

Assisting in the development of a new employee onboarding and training program for the FCC Department.

Receiving, logging, and consolidating information requests from the Bank's primary regulators the Federal Deposit Insurance C01-poration (FDIC) and the New York State
Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS). This includes directing requests to appropriate stakeholders as well as the review and saving of documentation and responses from across the Bank before review by the VP Governance.

Receiving, logging, and consolidating information requests from the Bank's internal and external auditors or other consultants. This includes directing requests to appropriate stakeholders as well as the review and saving of documentation and responses from across the Bank before review by the VP, Governance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Applying independent judgment in the identification and escalation of key BSA/ AML/ OFAC risks

Displaying a high level of professional aptitude and standards.

Performing other related duties as assigned by the VP, EDD High Risk Customer Monitoring Manager

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS degree is required and a professional certification (i.e., CAMS certification).

3-5 years of experience in banking, with a strong emphasis on BSA, AML and OFAC laws and regulations.

Proven ability to interact with all levels of management, including the Board of Directors.

Proven ability to use the full Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).

Proven ability to manage resources and competing priorities as required.

Excellent verbal, written, problem solving and interpersonal communication skills
