Primary Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Analyst is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of business analytics, machine learning, and technical dashboard and report development.
He/she will collaborate closely with business groups (e.g. Merchandising, Sales, Supply Chain) as well as other BI & IT functional groups (e.g. BI, Data Architecture/ETL); enabling data-driven insights and decisions.

Key focus areas include Excel data modeling, Python or R machine learning techniques, and Power BI dashboard & SSRS report development.

We're looking for someone with both solid business analytics skills, machine learning techniques, as well as the technical acumen and passion for turning data into actionable information.

This role will leverage our key technologies and data to provide critical insights to the organization.

Essential Functions

Ability to utilize Excel to combine (VLOOKUP) and manipulate (PIVOT TABLE) data into formats suitable for analysis

Ability to analyze data and translate data into information and insights

Ability to generate R or Python scripts, e.g. ETL, Client techniques

Ability to define software requirements and create requirements documentation

Ability to gather/query data from Excel, AS 400, SQL Server, Cognos, or other external data sources

Ability to create Power BI business intelligence and insights dashboards

Ability to develop SSRS reports

Employee must be able to work independently and prioritize workload based on project plans and time lines

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

-Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

Business, Business Analytics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science

-Business Experience

Requires 1-3 years related experience

Client or Retail Industry

-Microsoft Excel

Assemble data from multiple sources using the vlookup function

Create flexible data aggregations using pivot tables

Analyze data and translate findings into information and insights

-Microsoft Power BI

Develop advanced Power BI dashboards

Liaison to IT Business Intelligence and Data Architecture teams

-Microsoft SSRS – SQL Server Reporting Services

SQL query expertise

SSRS report development

-Machine Learning Knowledge (Regression, Clustering Models)

Python or R

-High degree of self-motivation and dependability

-Time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks

-Clear and concise communications skills; ability to work cross-functionally across IT and business units
