Job Description

Our client is a leading provider of data, analytics, and technology solutions to the global securities and investment management industries.

They are currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to set up and manage the code deployment aspect for one of our fast-paced, high visibility product groups.

This would be a 6 month contract to start; with the potential to be extended on an open-ended basis, or be converted to permanent employment.

Daily Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Setting up processes on a Jenkins server to deploy data processes and web code to the alpha, beta, staging and live environments

Setting up GitHub merge checks

Designing and implementing appropriate monitoring solutions for servers and web responses with the goal of enabling more efficient production support as well as applications we
support

Managing backup and archiving of file and database data

Setting up integrations such as:

Link pull requests to Jira – so updates, code merges are automatically documented and stored in the cloud

Link releases to Slack

Setting up and managing access controls and related security aspects for the for the CLO web and data processes development teams

Work with Product Owners and Partner teams to understand desired application availability/performance capabilities and validation testing scenarios

Continuously influence improved software engineering practices

Required:

A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Python (Perl or JavaScript will also be considered)

Strong SQL background (MS SQL Server or other RDBMS)

Experience working in a Linux environment

Candidate should have set up service applications using tools such as Docker, Jenkis,
Travis, WordPress, Joomla

Experience with monitoring tools such as paper trail, sumo logic, new relic

Experience with AWS – RDS, S3
