Market Services Engineer

This is a full time opportunity part of the Market Data Technology team, the successful applicant will support the market data infrastructure mainly in US as well as working in a Follow the Sun model.

The team is responsible for the delivery, support and maintenance of market data infrastructure such as;

Trading venue Connectivity;

Financial Market Interbank connectivity (FIX or otherwise);

Market Data Desktop Products;

Within the above technical disciplines, the team performs the following functions:

Delivery of new market data infrastructure and services in both front office and back office to support business growth and changes;

Support, troubleshooting and maintenance of market data infrastructure;

Coordination with applications support for market rehearsals and business recovery tests;

Providing consultancy to business on best of breed in market data technology;

Identifying risk in daily operations and developing mitigation plans;

Vendor management on price negotiation and contract renewal;

Monitoring and capacity management

Essential Technical Skills

Minimum 5 years working experience as a market data engineer in similar banking environment;

Demonstrated ability to build and support Reuters TREP component servers such as ADH, ADS, ATS;

Demonstrated ability to build and support integration of different market data feeds into TREP platform;

In-depth knowledge in delivering and supporting connectivity in the region, e.g. ASX, LME, LSE, HKEx, SGX, JPX, NSE, FIX, Radianz

Experience working with interbank connectivity providers such as BT Radianz, TNS and IPC

Experience and demonstrated understanding of Market Data front end products such as
Bloomberg, Reuters Eikon, Iress, DataStream and Factset, ThomsonOne, Factiva;

Knowledge and understanding the differences within the scope of networking, e.g. SPT/802.1Q/RIP/OSPF/BGP/HSRP/VRRP, firewall/router/switch/load-balancer

Understanding of multicast protocol, e.g. IGMP/PIM

Ability to configure and understand Geneos ITRS for Market Data monitoring;

Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems within a time pressured environment

Desired Technical Skills

Proficiency in Linux or Unix;

Knowledge in Windows user and application security policy;

Skills in shell scripting and API programming;

Understanding of security policies in Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls;

Experience in Corvil

Essential Non-Technical Skills

Incident and Change Management processes experience through Remedy;

Risk Management techniques;

Knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity;

Demonstrate strong, articulate documentation and communication skills;

Experience in delivering infrastructure projects according to defined scope and timeframes
