Job Description

Sr. Systems Engineer

6month - 12month Contract

Seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineering to fill an opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA.

Reporting to the division Engineering Manager, the Senior Engineer is responsible for architecting and developing timing and synchronization solutions for communication networks.

Must be passionate about architecting complex quality products with efficient, scalable and maintainable system.

Measures of Success:

Architecting efficient system solutions (including hardware/software partitioning) for timing and synchronization for communication network systems

Develops prototypes, evaluates system performance, and specifies hardware requirements

Creates detailed design specifications and gets consensus from stakeholders

Implements software for algorithms, protocols, efficient data flow and control flow

Provides guidance to junior engineers and other team members

Effectively interacts with all functional areas

Effectively communicates verbally and in writing

Skills & Experience Required:

Excellent knowledge with hands-on experience in communication networks with working domain knowledge of cellular and broadband access technologies (LTE, WCDMA, IP)

Solid understanding of IPV4/IPV6 protocols and networks including routers, switches, etc.

Good working knowledge of 5G network architecture and requirements

Excellent knowledge with hands-on experience in network synchronization protocols like SyncE, NTP and PTP

Extensive experience in system architecture, design, and implementation for embedded networking systems

Strong knowledge and experience of C/C++

Strong knowledge and experience in numerical algorithms using C/C++, Matlab, and/or
Python.

Solid understanding of control theory and/or digital signal processing in an embedded environment with implementation experience

Excellent understanding of programming model of complex hardware

Experience with Linux kernel level and networking stacks is a very strong plus.

Experience working through complex technical issues with major customers and suppliers.

Degree(s) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, MS preferred

10+ years of experience working in an embedded environment including firmware and hardware interfacing

Familiarity with GNSS, wireless and RF systems, time and frequency synchronization, LTE physical layers is a strong plus.
